Show Pens
In the current circumstances where pen shows and antique fairs have been put to one side I thought it may be of value to put online a selection of pens that would normally appear on my table at shows. A general description under each maker includes photographs and if you find one of interest please contact me so I can forward further details of these pens which have all been fully serviced. In addition please be assured that I continue to carry out repair and restoration as before.

Mabie Todd

Here is a group of 6 fountain pens from this maker. It includes Swan , both lever filler and leverless. Also Blackbird , often sought after as the nibs carry some flexibility.

Mabie Todd

Mabie Todd "Swan Visofil V" Fountain Pen.

An advertisement from 1936 offers this black model Swan Visofil V!!!/60 for 21 shillings. This makes it quite an expensive pen in its day as 1 guinea would have been a significant part of a working man's wage at that time. I have fitted the pen with a Swan No 3 14ct nib which is a broad and has noticeable "flex". It has been carefully restored to full working condition.

Slip caps for Onoto Plunger Filler

The 3 caps shown were made on the lathe in hard rubber. The tricky bit in the lathe work is the thin wall of these caps, and the correct hard rubber used for this jib is very brittle and keen to crack.
